Contour rhinoplasty

Many people dream of correcting the shape of their nose, and plastic surgeons often work with clients who want to change both tiny settings and change their nose completely to the right.

First, radical surgery leaves no chance for the patient to correct the consequences of the surgery (only minor correction is possible).

Contour rhinoplasty refers to non-surgical methods that make the shape of the nose faster and safer than surgery.

Hyaluronic acid-based fillers, lipofilling and other materials are used for this purpose; fibers; hormonal agents that soften the cartilage of the nose, allowing its shape to be corrected.

Second, surgery is more expensive, and in the event of a surgeon’s mistake, the probability of which always exists, the consequences cannot always be corrected. Today, as an alternative to this method, contouring is successfully used, which is performed faster and has no serious negative consequences.

Glucocorticosteroids are used in hormonal rhinoplasty, in which cartilage absorption is a side effect.

Therefore, they are administered in high doses for effect. They appear for a very long time - six months.

Nasal failure is a common complication when using hormonal rhinoplasty.

Indications and contraindications

Surgical nasal surgery is an effective method to achieve the desired result, but this type of intervention can be dispensed with if a small correction of certain areas is required.

The indications for contour rhinoplasty, which allow you to perform quickly and safely, are as follows:

  • nose too thin, drooping or inverted;
  • hump;
  • asymmetric nose;
  • other irregularities;
  • scars and other similar defects.

Contour correction has several contraindications that can be absolute and relative. The first group includes oncological diseases, individual intolerance to the drugs used and their components, hemophilia, autoimmune diseases, and diseases of the endocrine system.

Relative contraindications are factors that do not allow the nose to be corrected without surgery at a given time, but over time, the procedure becomes possible.

Such contraindications include:

  • exacerbation of chronic diseases;
  • ARVI;
  • colds;
  • inflammation of the skin areas in the proposed area of the rhinoplasty procedure;
  • pregnancy and lactation;
  • rehabilitation period after complex cosmetic procedures.

The procedure is also not performed for persons under 18 years of age. This is due to the fact that bone and cartilage tissues are not yet fully formed at this age, and medical intervention can lead to negative abnormalities.

What disadvantages will contour rhinoplasty correct?

Since non-surgical rhinoplasty may not always help, it is important to know when such a method will be appropriate and help solve the patient’s problems. This medical procedure is guaranteed to eliminate:

  1. Asymmetrical shapenose. After the rhinoplasty procedure, the nose will be smooth, regardless of what caused such a deviation (it has been present since trauma, surgery, or birth).
  2. GorbinkiOn the nose. Sometimes this defect is not considered as such and does not affect aesthetic perception, but in some cases the bumps make a person’s face attractive and this is easy to correct with rhinoplasty.
  3. Form recoveryafter nasal injury. Often, after accidents, fights, or sports, the shape of the nose becomes ugly as a result of the damage, but this defect quickly disappears.
  4. Different removalfailures, pits and irregularities.

They also consult rhinoplasty specialists to relieve nasal pressure or, conversely, to lift the tip of the nose.

What is the procedure

You should see a dermatologist before correcting the shape of your nose. The doctor will examine the tolerance of the medications used and the bases used in the procedure.

You can then discuss every detail of the surgery with a rhinoplasty specialist. At this stage, the result is predicted, the correction zones are defined, and any further wishes and other nuances of the client are discussed.

Prior to correction, an anesthetic is applied in the form of an ointment to and around the nose, which begins to take effect after about 15 minutes. Then the repair process begins, which can be performed in different ways.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty with fillers

If the correction is made by the introduction of fillers, the procedure does not take more than forty minutes. However, the changes are immediately noticeable because, unlike surgery, this procedure has no consequences such as swelling, bruising, and swelling that prevent the physician and patient from evaluating the work.

Fillers are called special gels of synthetic origin. The most common fillers are hyaluronic acid. Such formulations do not contain toxins and are formed by the synthesis of bacteria. It turned out to be a completely safe, environmentally friendly product, harmless to the body.

The main advantage of these types of fillers is their absolute resistance to the enzymes produced by skin cells. Such enzymes do not destroy the filler, so the corrections made are saved for a long time.

The fillers are injected using a syringe with a fine needle. Such a needle ("cannula") is different from the usual one, which has a rounded blunt end and the cannula opening is located on the side.

The drug is stored in a sealed package immediately before the procedure and opened immediately before administration. Depending on the depth to which the filler is injected and the desired effect, a certain amount is used.

There are different types of fillers, each different in terms of duration and effectiveness. In addition to medicines based on hyaluronic acid, the following are also used:

  1. Autologous- are made on the basis of the client's own fabrics.
  2. Biodegradable- gel preparations which are not exposed to chemical compounds of the human body, do not degrade and are excreted from the body for a longer period of time than other types.
  3. Biodegradable- is broken down by enzymes produced by the body and is removed over time, decomposing to the level of the simplest elements.

Each type has its own characteristics, advantages and disadvantages. Thus, biodegradable fillers are not very expensive, but the effect of introducing such drugs lasts up to 8-12 months.

More persistent biodegradable fillers last longer in the body, but when used, tissue fibrosis (connective tissue proliferation and scarring) is possible.

Autologous drugs do not have such disadvantages, but are much more expensive, and processes using such excipients require some time to synthesize the drug.

Regardless of which filler was used to contour the nose, it may be necessary to use a rail after the procedure to properly shape the shape of the nose, but wearing such an accessory will take up to a day, after which it can be removed on its own.

Nasal surgery without surgery with hormone-based drugs

In this case, they do not use hormonal drugs in the strict sense, but their analogues, which are able to partially dissolve and soften the cartilage tissues of the nose for later correction of its shape.

The complexity of such a procedure lies in the fact that the person skilled in the art must calculate the exact amount of drug injected and determine the depth of injection correctly. In case of failure, the formation of nasal cavities is possible, and even uncontrolled tissue atrophy provoked by an excessive amount of drug.

This method is not as fast as the others, and usually takes several to three to three weeks. The effectiveness of this method is quite high, but the doctor and the patient progress intermittently to the desired result, so no obvious changes can be experienced in the first days.

An endocrinologist should be consulted prior to the procedure to determine the patient’s hormonal background, and in some cases, physicians state that such procedures are impossible due to problems with certain hormone levels.

Non-surgical nasal correction with sutures

When using this method, special threads are pulled through areas of the nose that require correction, which are later pulled in certain areas.

As a result of these "pull-ups", you can make the necessary changes to the shape of your nose.

During the first two days, adaptation takes place, after which the remnants of the fibers are removed. This procedure is performed under local anesthesia and is mainly used to reshape the wings and tip of the nose.

In modern contouring rhinoplasty, fibers are not yet used as often as other methods. This is due to the fact that at its relatively high cost, this method can only correct small errors.

Rehabilitation process

Unlike surgery, which always involves complex surgeries, rhinoplasty of the nasal contour without surgery does not require a long rehabilitation period at the end of the procedure.

Moreover, in such cases, after nasal correction, the patient can leave the clinic immediately after the operation is completed without having to be supervised by a physician.

One day after the contour correction, the person can return to their normal lifestyle and after another three days they can see the final effect of the procedure in the mirror.

But contour rhinoplasty can have complications. These may be small local edema and bruises, but do not require additional procedures and medical intervention and will disappear in a day or two.

The most important thing to avoid during the rehabilitation period, which lasts from several days to a week - any injury, even the slightest. This can provoke fibrosis, so if the activity of a person undergoing rhinoplasty involves physical activity or a risk of accidental injuries at work, it is better to take sick leave.

In addition, during the rehabilitation period, exposure to the facial skin of open sunlight should be limited (especially in summer), you should not use even minimal amounts of cosmetics, and you should refrain from visiting the solarium. Baths and saunas are also excluded these days.

Efficiency of contouring

The effectiveness of rhinoplasty depends directly on three factors: the type of procedure, in the case of fillers, their variety, and the cost of such a device.

Unlike the results of plastic surgeries, the effect of non-surgical rhinoplasty lasts for up to three years, and this is ensured when the most expensive biodegradable drugs are used.

Minimal changes using cheap fillers are only observed in the first six to eight months, after which the procedure must be repeated. On average, the effect of this type of rhinoplasty lasts for about a year and a half. It is impossible to name the exact timing as it all depends on the metabolic characteristics of the particular patient and the breakdown of the filler components.

Possible complications

The procedure for non-surgical rhinoplasty is simple, painless, and takes an average of half an hour. But this does not rule out possible complications that may be observed in patients in some cases.

Sometimes such negative consequences of contour rhinoplasty can be seen during the rehabilitation period, while healing can take several days. If problems start and complications are detected after a week, a diagnosis is needed, after which appropriate treatment is prescribed.

The most harmless complications are:

  • mild swelling and bruising;
  • pain in the area of correction;
  • swelling in areas undergoing rhinoplasty.

Experts consider such consequences to be acceptable and do not recommend that special measures be taken to eliminate such complications.

The situation is much more severe when the large blood vessels become blocked as a result of the doctor’s action. This leads to harmful blood flow, and such complications result in tissue death in most cases.

Embolism is accompanied by symptoms such as cramps, pain syndrome, and areas of skin in the correction area may turn bluish. If you find such signs, consult a doctor immediately.

In extremely rare cases, allergic reactions to one or more of the components in the formulations used are possible. But provided the procedure is performed under the supervision of an experienced professional, this probability is minimized.

Even less frequently, after surgery, it is possible to violate the shape of the nose. This can be due to both the untrained actions of the doctor and the specifics of the patient’s cartilage and bone tissue. In such cases, the situation can only be corrected by surgery.

In some cases, non-surgical rhinoplasty can have the following side effects:

  1. Some clinics may use drugsPoor qualitywhich cause pain. Inserting the needle under the skin alone is quite uncomfortable, but if you experience pain, your doctor may use an anesthetic as an anesthetic. However, overdose of anesthetic can lead to loss of consciousness.
  2. They can occur with insufficient deep administration of the drugprotrusion of the geland its migration under the skin. As a result, such problem areas will be uneven and bumpy. In people with thin skin, purple spots appear at the injection site.
  3. Inflammation- the body's normal reaction to the introduction of foreign substances. But if such inflammation at the injection site does not go away for more than three days, it is a reason to see a doctor. Inflamed areas often form "lumps" under the skin that can only be removed with surgery.
  4. Too deep injections leadfiller migration. . . In this case, it flows under the skin, changes its location, and as a result, the shape and characteristics of the patient's face are distorted. The main cause of this side effect is the act of the unconscious who cannot correctly determine the depth of administration of the drug.

When deciding on non-surgical contour surgery, the prospects should be clearly understood and all the advantages and disadvantages of this method should be weighed.

In most cases, this is the best way to correct the shape of the nose, but before the procedure it is essential to undergo a full examination, based on the contraindications of contour rhinoplasty: this guarantees to avoid unpleasant consequences.
